Svetlana
Bellamy was born in 1967 in Saratow, Russia. She started painting as
a child, attending the Saratow School for Artistically Talented Children,
followed by further education at the Saratow Art College, graduating with
a diploma to teach painting. At age seventeen, she had her first individual
exhibition. Svetlana then entered a six-year program at the Academy of Art
in Kiev. During her first year at the Academy, her "Portrait of a Man"
was selected to be shown in the Academy Museum during its 90th Anniversary
Exhibition. In March 1992, "Woman of the Ukraine" was exhibited,
and "A Girl against the Background of the Russian Quilt" was also
recognized. Several Kiev collectors then commissioned works. While still
attending the Kiev Academy of Art, Svetlana traveled to Gdansk, Poland,
for an exhibition of her works in the Russian Center of Science and Culture.
She exhibited her works a second time at the Russian Center of Science and
Culture in Gdansk, and also had an exhibition in Elblag, Poland.
In
1995 Svetlana received the Masters Degree from the Kiev Art Academy
in Applied Art as a Painter of Canvas. Since that times her works have
been received with enthusiasm among international collectors. She has
had exhibitions in Gdansk Poland, Berlin Russian Center of Science and
Culture, Fontanhaus Center of Art in Berlin, Germany and Rome Art and
Community Center, Rome, N.Y. Her works in oils and watercolors have also
been presented in Nashville, Tennessee and Malibu, California by Lyzon
Fine Arts. Svetlana also has a MFA degree from Syracuse University.
Svetlana now lives and works in the United States and is the owner of
Bellamy Fine Art. She works in fine art doing still life and landscapes
in oil, watercolor, pastel, charcoal, and mosaics. She also does commissioned
portraiture. Further, she does frescos and murals and wood panels.
